Marius Boyer
Marius Boyer was the most prolific architect of Casablanca's Art Deco period, designing over 200 buildings in the city alone.
Morocco Connection
Boyer created what is now the largest Art Deco ensemble in Africa. His genius was blending Parisian modernism with Moroccan motifs — geometric zellige patterns rendered in concrete, horseshoe arches abstracted into Art Deco geometry. His buildings include residential blocks, commercial centers, and public buildings that collectively define the architectural identity of central Casablanca. Many are now threatened by demolition, though the preservation organization Casamémoire has been fighting since 1995 to protect them.
