Created by French painter Jacques Majorelle starting in 1924, this garden in Marrakech features his signature cobalt blue — now called "Majorelle Blue." After decades of neglect following Majorelle's death in 1962, Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé purchased and restored the garden in 1980, saving it from a planned hotel development. The Art Deco studio building, painted in that electric blue, houses a Berber museum. Since 2017, the adjacent Musée Yves Saint Laurent (designed by Studio KO) has connected fashion and Moroccan craft. The garden contains over 300 plant species from five continents.
